V. Kocharyan: "Armenia highly appreciates the co-operation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in the legal sector"

From 23 to 24 November, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Kocharyan participated in the global forum entitled "Promoting legal co-operation within the scope of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the Silk Road" in China.

During the forum, the Deputy Minister delivered a speech and noted that the status of Armenia as a partner in the dialogue with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation ensures sustainable grounds for co-operation in various sectors, and the memorandum signed between the two parties establishes major directions for co-operation such as the strengthening of stability and security in the region, as well as the fight against terrorism, illicit circulation of narcotics and organised international crimes through combined efforts.

Vigen Kocharyan emphasised that the Republic of Armenia highly appreciates the co-operation with the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in the legal sector and, as a brilliant example of such co-operation, indicated the Agreement on Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, which is signed between China and Armenia and has been ratified by the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

"The Republic of Armenia is ready to continue to work jointly with all of its partners in both bilateral and multilateral formats," Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Kocharyan said.

During the forum, the attendees discussed a number of issues related to legal co-operation, as well as issues and proposals regarding legal assistance to the initiative of creating the Silk Road Economic Belt.
