Employees of the Ministry of Justice awarded for innovative ideas

Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan today participated in the "Public Innovation" Awards. The event was organised within the framework of the contest for innovative ideas announced for state servants and jointly carried out by the UN Development Programme, the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.

The purpose of the contest was to use the knowledge and experience that employees of the public administration system have gained in order to optimise working processes and make public services more participatory.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms Vache Gabrielyan; Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski; UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative for the Republic of Armenia Bradley Busetto and Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Suren Krmoyan participated in the "Public Innovation" Awards.

Arpine Hovhannisyan noted that such programmes serve as an impetus, especially for young people, who are provided with the opportunity to introduce their progressive ideas within the public administration system in line with the times. The Minister added that the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia has actually undertaken the role of a pioneer in the realisation of the programmes and innovative ideas of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and brought up the recent launch of the unified platform for publishing draft legal acts (www.e-draft.am), the launch of unified offices for provision of state services, the launch of the Civil Status Acts Registration electronic system, e-register, e-Apostille, e-notary and many other programmes and systems as examples.

A number of employees of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia were awarded during the "Public Innovation" Awards. In particular, Nane Harutyunyan was granted the First Prize, Anna Harutyunyan and Diana Ghazaryan were granted the Second Prize, Shushan Doydoyan won the Third Prize, and Zhenya Marutyan was granted the Special Award.
