Minister of Justice and OSCE/ODIHR Director discuss a number of issues to make co-operation more effective

Today, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Davit Harutyunyan received Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir, who is on an official visit to Armenia.

The Minister highly appreciated the current level of co-operation between Armenia and the OSCE/ODIHR and considered it to be effective. Minister Harutyunyan noted that Mrs. Gísladóttir is in Armenia in a very important period when Armenia is trying to make a smooth transition to parliamentary governance by making extensive amendments to the legislation following the constitutional reforms. In this context, the Minister attached importance to the recommendations received from the ODIHR for improvement of several draft constitutional laws.

The Director of the ODIHR expressed gratitude for the reception, emphasised that Armenia is one of the most constructive partners and expressed willingness to continue the existing close collaboration.

At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues on making the co-operation more effective.
