Working discussion on development of Action Plan for implementation of the current Anti-Corruption Strategy and a new strategy

Today, a working discussion on the development of the 2015-2018 Action Plan for implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy and of a new Anti-Corruption Strategy took place under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Suren Krmoyan. Nearly 20 representatives from non-governmental organisations engaged in the Anti-Corruption programmes participated in the working discussion.

During the meeting, Suren Krmoyan discussed with the participants the Action Plan of the current Strategy and its implemented and to-be-implemented components, the recommendations for the development of the new strategy and issues related to the choice of the format for further co-operation. Afterwards, the participants held an active discussion on the issues presented.

Touching upon the vision of the new Strategy, Suren Krmoyan has marked out three main components, i.e., prevention component, which will include public-private partnership regulation and introduction of electronic tools within the whole public administration system, excluding corruption risks; law enforcement component, which will represent an independent and effective system for investigation of corruption crimes, as well as education and public awareness component, which will include a widespread anti-corruption public awareness campaign.

Summing up the discussion, the Deputy Minister assured the participants of the meeting that there will be no limitation on presenting new recommendations for the new Strategy; moreover, the vast majority of recommendations will be included in the new Strategy.
