On 19-21 July a conference aimed at assessing the existing procedures for responding to violence against children took place/

About four dozens of representatives of interested government agencies, state and non-governmental organisations and local and international experts were present at the meeting.

Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Suren Krmoyan welcomed everyone and attached importance to the need for response to violence against children, to inter-agency co-operation in the juvenile justice sector and the need for the development of a policy based on research and statistical results and the implementation of reforms.

Then, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia A. Manukyan; Coordinator of the UNICEF Justice for Children and Juvenile Justice Programme in Armenia, Mrs V. Ohanyan; expert of the United Nations Children's Fund, Mrs L. E. Indreiten delivered speeches in which they undertook the initiative to supporting future developments of the partnership.

As a result of participatory discussions and group work during the three-day conference, the members of the Council, conditioned by the membership for global partnership, conducted a self-assessment, as well as considered the priorities of the roadmap for putting an end to violence against children in Armenia by 2030 and the framework of emphases on actions for prevention and response.

The activities of the Secretariat of the Council for Juvenile Justice are carried out by the "Legal Education and Rehabilitation Programmes Implementation Centre” SNCO.
